Greg Rickford M.P., Kenora, is pleased to announce the opening of Kenora & Dryden Constituency Offices on Monday, December 8th, 2008.  Plans for a Sioux Lookout constituency office are still being developed.  “Office space is pretty scarce in Sioux Lookout right now – we’ll revisit that option in the spring” said Rickford.  “However, there will be a Kenora Riding Outreach Manager based in Sioux Lookout who will be responsible for constituency matters in Sioux Lookout, Hudson, Pickle Lake, Ignace, Red Lake and all of the remote and isolated First Nation communities in the riding.” 

“It’s a strategy we think will dramatically improve the access all constituents will have from those communities to their Member of Parliament” Rickford commented with enthusiasm.  “The intention is to operate constituency clinics in those areas where at least the Kenora Riding Outreach Manager will be available for more effective and immediate face-to-face or phone contact.”  Rickford intends to visit all of the outreach areas consistently as his schedule provides.  “Efforts will be focused on contact and outreach to constituents throughout the riding,” Rickford stated emphatically, who knows first-hand the challenges constituents face living in the smaller communities outside of Dryden and Kenora where Members of Parliament and or the Legislature typically have constituency offices.
